The Bostitch story
Originally known as the Boston Wire Stitcher® Company, the first syllables of the words "Boston" and "Stitcher" were joined to make "Bostitch®", and the name was adopted for product use after the manufacture of machines began. Thomas Briggs, the founder, invented in 1896 a new kind of user friendly Wire Stitcher designed for fastening books, calendars, checks, hat boxes, etc. This machine made a staple or stitch as it was called from a coil of wire. It was called the Boston Wire Stitcher and the company was named the Boston Wire Stitcher Company. In 1903 the company invented a foot operated stapling machine that used pre-formed staples. These staples were not collated but had to be slid off of a track into the magazine of the machine. Later they were collated with paper and then glue. Soon the Boston Wire Stitcher Company was developing various kinds of staplers for industrial markets. In 1930 the Bostitch® Sales Company was formed to sell Bostitch® products, and in 1948 the Boston Wire Stitcher Company officially became Bostitch®, Inc. The first Coil Nailer from Bostitch, the N2, came on the scene in 1965, and the rest is history. Today, Bostitch sells a huge range of nailers, compressors, and other products, and is a leader in the industry.

Pros: Great warranty (7 years), Easy to use, Relatively compact, Nice storage case, Multiple" Noses" for nailer, FAST!
Cons: Noisy (but it's an air tool), Leather cover could use padding in the palm area, no instructions for putting the leather cover on, no airline connector included, Minimal instructions.
UPDATE - Still loving the palm nailer, BUT... It does not replace a dedicated nail gun for speed, like a framing nailer. You trade off speed (framing nail gun is FAST, but a specialty product with limited application). This palm nailer is not quite as fast as a dedicated nail gun, but is a single tool that is very useful for a broader range of applications. Still highly recommend!!

I have already used the nailer to help build my deck and was very handy with the joist hangers, nailing in the blocks within tight spaces where the framing nailer or drill couldnt fit. It is quite the handy tool and saved my hand from getting more blisters and slivers.
I had a few set backs initially when I first started using it. The palm nailer did not come with any hose connection and I had to go out and buy one. I installed a swiveling hose connector and I pretty happy I did as it really helps getting into tighter corners. I installed the following one that can be seen here: http://www.amazon.ca/Bostitch-BTFP72333-Industrial-4-Inch-Series/dp/B00HXD2VV8
Additionally I had problems first trying to remove the nose. The supplied wrench alone was not able to unscrew it. I read on the bostitch help site that heat was required. After using a hairdryer to heat it up and using the supplied wrench I still was unable to unscrew it. I then went and grabbed an adjustable wrench and that worked to remove the nose. After which there hasnt been any issues with the nailer.
I got this nailer for a great deal and wouldnt hesitate to get other bostitch nailers here when they go on sale.

The smaller brother of this nailer is great and I wish I had this one but even the smaller one does its job perfectly. I finished a deck with galvanized nails in 3 days.
I underestimated this nailer, yet it turns out this nailer becomes the most useful nailer for my basement finishing. It can be used while the others can't due to tight spaces; in the case you cannot use the framing nailer or even swinging an old-school hammer.
Basically, forget the framing nailers. You just need to get this for your DIY projects.
Tips: This nailer consumes more air than the other nailing guns. So please make sure that you have a decent sized compressor. I am using the 6-GAL CAP2000P compressor from the CPACK300 kit with this palm nailer without problem.
